No of vacancies: A total of 40 Vacancies exists for the post of Scientific Assistant
Educational qualification for Scientific Assistant (as on 28.03.2013)
Candidate should have passed M.Sc.(Forensic Science)Degree and a degree in the subject, for the group as shown in the explanation below to which he/she is appointed.

M.Sc.Degree in the subject for the group as shown in the explanation below to which
he/she is appointed.

Age Limit (as on as on 01.07.2013) : Category wise age limit details are given below.
For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, BCMs and DWs of all Castes : Minimum Age is 18 years and No Maximum Age Limit.
For “Others” [i.e Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs] :Minimum Age is 18 years and Maximum Age is Below 30 Years.
Pay Scale : The pay scale range for Scientific Assistant post is Rs.9,300-34,800/- (PB2) + Grade Pay 4,500/- .
Selection Process: Candidate selection for Scientific Assistant post will be made in two successive stages i.e., Written Examination and Oral Test.
TNPSC Scientific Assistant Recruitment 2013 Application fee & Mode of payment Details
Application fee: Candidates who wish to apply for Scientific Assistant post need to pay examination fee of Rs. 150/- (Examination Fee Rs. 100/- + Cost of Application Rs. 50/-).
Candidates who are exempted from paying examination fee should pay Rs.50/- towards Application Cost.
Mode of Payment: Candidate should pay the fees through Online or Offline mode.
