ReplyDeleteWhat is the mark awarded for experience for a person who has passed B.A, M.A, and MPhil in regular and strated the career as lecturer in a private college during the year 1996 and who is still working as a Assistant professor in a private college and who has recently cleared the basic eligibility that is SET conducted by Bharathiyar University in Oct2012,Out of 15 marks that person according to the corrigendum of 19th June 2013, it says experience after clearing SET/ NET /PHD only will be considered,Only in 2010 the basic eligibility for govt posts as AP was changed ie either SET or NET or Phd is compulsory. Why people who have wider experience and service in good institution are deprived of gaining marks for experience that they have in colleges before clearing SET/NET/PHD. It is highly ridiculous. Then the system of selection should be changed as it is done in selecting APs for Govt Engineering Colleges. Just two marks is given for experience and the rest is given by conducted open test Paper I and Paper II and finally results are announced considering the marks that person has secured in the written test why cant the same be the selection process in Govt Arts And Science Colleges too.15 marks is the highest weight age given for experience whereas it is counted only after a person has cleared the eligibility test I hope no body will ever could obtain full 15 marks for experience if this is the rule.
ReplyDeleteTRB must conduct a written test to end all these confusions.
ReplyDeleteYes I also agree to conduct a written exam
ReplyDeleteJodhpur Rafik Ali sir, The TRB is only for those who can read and write in Tamil. Till date nobody from rest of India has dared to challenge it!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-national/tp-tamilnadu/cloud-over-university-of-madras-mcom-degree/article4875416.ece
correct written test is final solution
ReplyDeletewhy last date extended?
ReplyDeleteWith out basic qualification a person cannot worked as a elementary school teacher or a middle school teacher in our state, But it in our state a person can work as a assistant professor with out clearing any basic qualification, and his experience before clearing basic qualification too calculated in the TRB recruitment. ' What a logic '. This is our higher education department policy. If they really wants to recruit skilled person for higher education, then they should change the selection process, by conducting written exam or by some other genuine process. Which is not affect any individuals.
ReplyDeletenow what is the situation? They (TRB) are giving marks for TE before getting minimum qualification? Plz give the details?
ReplyDeleteDear all, The assistant professors who have cleared the NET or SET or completed Ph.D only during the last few years, are very much disturbed by the latest announcement of TRB regarding teaching experience that will be considered and calculated only from the day of acquiring basic qualification for the post of assistant professors. There are many others who have got qualified through clearing NET and SET as well in the 1990's feel that this change, brought out by TRB is the right one that would protect the interest of long-term qualified candidates and perhaps it should have been followed from the very first recruitment, conducted by TRB. It is a delayed Justice. Please know the reason Why they could not get appointments in the past recruitments. It is because of the reason that the qualification of mere Ph.D was given with 9 marks. It pulled down the NET holders out of the selection list. Moreover, when candidates who got qualified recently through the MCQ pattern of UGC are ready to face the written test in TRB if conducted, those who got qualified in NET / SET as per the old pattern should be very ready for the same. In this juncture, the candidates should understand the importance, UGC was giving for NET / SET before 2000. Ph.D has been accepted as an entry qualification only after the said period. Prior to it, (but after 1993) it was only NET / SET that was the entry qualification. Therefore, please try to understand that interest and merit of the candidates who have been qualified for a long span of time. Though people like you have served for more than 10 years, you have become UGC qualified only recently. Give way for people who became qualified before you. It is my wish that TRB should not reverse it's decision once again. A candidate who got UGC qualified for more than 10 years is not inferior to any other candidate who has become qualified by either clearing NET / SET or by acquiring Ph.D recently. Academically yours....
ReplyDeleteIt is a natural injustice to give 9 marks for Ph.D holders and 5 marks for SET/NET holders, which is the primary cause for non-selection of SLET/NET holders in the previous appointments. First the marks must be equated as 5 or 9. Secondly, experience must be counted strictly from the date of acquiring the minimum qualification, when it is mandatory for school teachers. No one has stopped the "So Called - Experienced Professors Without Minimum Qualification" from acquiring such eligible qualification. To avoid all these confusions, the Govt. can appoint Asst. Professors merely based on the "EMPLOYMENT SENIORITY FROM THE DATE OF ACQUIRING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION" to be transparent and corruption free.
ReplyDeleteI differ from other's view on written examination. In Engg Colleges faculty members need not to get through in the exams like NET/SET. They come under AICTE Purview. But in arts & Science the situation is not same. The minimum eligibility is pass in NET/SET/PhD. Is it good to conduct one more test?. Then what is the need of NET? I think the TRB's decision is correct. However they can reduce the mark for experience as no one can attain maximum marks. They can award marks for Research papers in journals with impact factors, invited talk,Number of FDPs/Workshops/Seminar attended/organised, Foreign visits in connection with profession, Social activities like NSS/NCC etc, curriculum preparation, Association with various boards, professional bodies, participation in major/minor projects, Funds fetched to the institution etc. Most of these points are already covered in Academic Performance Index for Associate Professors - UGC norms. If you calculate merely the number of years even idiots with PG qualification will compete for AP post. The achievement must speak.
ReplyDeleteLast time when the M.Phil candidates were not considered where were you? Now as you all are affected you are making it as an issue. When they changed the SLET or NET exam pattern with third paper as the objective did you all have the guts say let us have the old pattern itself. If you had said that then your emotions now may be meaningful. Now it is meaningless. Change only is permanent and all others are temporary. Be prepared.Teaching is a noble profession and something is done for improving the quality means let us accept and update the same.
ReplyDeleteAs per UGC circular F.9-3/2010(PS)
ReplyDelete12th October, 2012, PhDs fulfilling 2009 standards alone eligible for Asst Professors. According to this norm Guide should not go beyond 8 candidates. He should select students according to reservation. Thesis should be stored in INFILBNET. If this is the case no PhD is eligible.
Yes the selection process should be changed. better they conduct exams just like TET.
ReplyDeleteThe basic qualification for assistant professor was only PG in the year 2002 later it was upgraded to M.Phil and later to the current necessity of NET/SET. So all the experienced persons are qualified according to the rules of the time. The recent criteria of NET/SET doesn't mean that their experience is not eligible. So the demand of them is worthy to be considered. Weightage should be given to their full experience.
ReplyDeleteyes! last date extended 26-7-2013 vide Dinamani dt. 9-7-2013 page 3
ReplyDeletePl.give the meaning for corrigendum -II.
ReplyDeletei am working as a lecturer in commerce department for past 12 years. I completed MBA with NET and SET .I applied Business Administration for TRB lecturer post now. Whether TRB consider my 12 Years experience in commerce for service certificate
ReplyDeleteAS PER JUDGEMENT OF HIGH COURT ALL THE EXP ARE CALCULATED FOR WEIGHTAGE MARKS
ReplyDeleteEARLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATE CAN NOT BE AFFECTED IF TRB WILL GIVE WEIGHTAGE MARKS FOR EMPLOYMENT SENIORITY FROM THE DATE OF ACQUIRING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(PHD OR SLET/NET)
I have submitted my filled in application form on 08.07.2013 (before corrigendum -II)with the teaching experience certificate obtained after Ph.D.What shall I do now.Pl.give me suggestions.

ReplyDeleteok people,
ReplyDeleteTell me what is the current stand of TRB regarding experience while part time Ph.D? In addition, I want to tell one thing that Ph.D is a research programme which can be validated only through publications and patterns, not by the mode(FT or PT). Because, I have seen many people who are excel in their teaching as well as research. Some full time scholars completed Ph.D without any impact in the research. So, Experience should not be connected with the current eligibility criteria. If anyone has difference of opinion, do not get angry. Kindly think over it.
I have joined as lecturer in 2007 with M.Phil qualification.I have completed my Ph.D in 2012.What will be my teaching experience as per the recent notification by TRB? Whether the experience is calculated from 2007 to till date or from 2007 to 2010 and then from 2012 onwards.Pl.clarify my doubt.
ReplyDeleteI was filled my TRB Application (Assistant professor for govt. Arts and science colleges). In this OMR sheet I done black marked in the year 19 in Date of birth column (serial number 3) and in Faculty code 'D' Column (serial number 9). But in given prospect not marked above the two columns in model. At the same time the next page of this model application in serial number 13c, 13d, 13e and 14 the given 'D' is marked by TRB. I confused about this. Is it is wrong or correct. If wrong what can I do? Please detail. Can I reapply? Please reply.
ReplyDeleteThat's not a big issue. No need to reapply. Most of them done the same. Don't worry. prepare well for the interview. all the best
ReplyDeleteI belongs to cs . i have completed MCA, but my ug degree is physics, and cleared set 2012 in cs,is there is any pbm to attend the interview due to cross major. if anyone know that reply me
ReplyDeleteMark for PhD is 9 as well as experience mark for each year is 2. think that the total marks for PT PhD's would earn more marks per year. It is not a genuine. For example some one done PhD in PT for 5 years, they would scored 10+9=19 marks altogether in 5 years. At the same time FT scholar requires 3 years research plus 8 years experience. Why this controversial.
ReplyDeleteif TRB is giving equal marks for Ph.D or NET or SLET/SET qualifications which are minimum required qualification, that will be genuine. i would like to know whether any filed case is going on regarding this issue. please reply me.
ReplyDeleteIn 2013 TRB fake PhDs and somebody buying a PhD with out knowing the norms and coarse of PhD works. How the TRB identifies these fake candidates and standing at genuine among the right candidates. TRB should prevents the duplicate experience and degrees in this recruitment. M.Manivannan Coimbatore.

ReplyDeleteASSISTANT PROFESSOR RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION STAYED BY HIGH COURT ON 04-10-2013 ON THE GROUND THAT THE SCHEME OF SELECTION IN PARA 13 OF THE NOTIFICATION (ISSUED AS PER GOVT. ORDER OF 2009) IS CONTRARY TO THE UGC REGULATIONS 2010
ReplyDeleteSO THERE MAY NOT BE ANY CV TILL THE COURT CASE IS CLEARED.
ReplyDeleteHow did you know that there is a court case? I mean could you tell us the source and how para 13 of the notification is contrary to UGC norms?
ReplyDeleteI am 100% sure that High Court has stayed all further proceedings in the Assistant Professors Recruitment on 04-10-2013. Para 13 is contrary to the UGC Regulations. There is no scope for Teaching Experience as per UGC. Only Teaching Skills Count and the weightage should be as provided by the UGC. UGC provides lesser weightage to interview and more weightage to academic performance. Notification is vice versa and as per GO of the year 2009. Hence, contrary to UGC Regulations 2010. You got it. Soon, the news will be out in news papers.
