Border Security Force Vacancy, Eligibility Details


Name of the posts:
1. Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer): 25 Vacancies
2. Head Constable (Ministerial): 159 Vacancies
3. Constable (Daftry): 12 Vacancies

No of vacancies: A total of 196 Vacancies exists.

Educational qualification:

For ASI(Steno) & HC(Min) post: Candidate must have passed Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognised Board or University or equivalent.

For Constable(Daftry) post: Candidate must have passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board or Institution.

Age Limit: Candidate age should be between 18 to 25 years. The crucial date for determination of age limit for the posts ASI(Steno) & HC(Min) shall be 01-01-2014. The crucial date for determination of age limit for the post CT(Daftry) shall be closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India and not the closing date prescribed for those in far flung areas.

Pay Scale :
The pay scale range for ASI(Steno) post is Rs.5200-20200 with grade pay Rs.2800/- in Pay Band-1.
The pay scale range for HC(Min) post is Rs.5200-20200 with grade pay Rs.2400/- in Pay Band-1.
The pay scale range for CT(Daftry) post is Rs.5200-20200 with grade pay Rs.2000/- in Pay Band-1.

Selection Process: Selection of eligible candidates will be made on the basis of performance of candidates in Written Examination, Physical Measurement, Short Hand Test, Typing Speed Test, Documentation, Medical Examination & interview.

Written Examination: It will consist of the five parts:-
PART-I : Hindi/ English language. (20 Marks)
PART-II : General Intelligence (20 Marks)
PART-III : Numerical Aptitude (20 Marks)
PART-IV : Clerical Aptitude (20 Marks)
PART-V : Basic Computer Knowledge (20 Marks)
Total: 100 Marks

There will be one composite paper for one hour and forty minutes duration consisting of above five parts and will be “OMR Based Objective Type with Multiple Choice”. Question paper will be printed in English and Hindi both.

The minimum qualifying marks of written test are:-
i) General Category - 35%
ii) OBC/SC/ST - 33%

Examination fee & Mode of payment Details


Applicants are required to pay the crossed Bank Draft/Postal Order for Rs.50/- as examination fee in favour of authority to whom the application is addressed, payable at respective SBI/Post office at the location. SC/ST/ Departmental (BSF) candidates and Women candidates are exempted from payment of examination fees.
